On September 25, 2024, the West Palm Beach VA Healthcare System announced the awarding of a contract for the first ever multi-specialty clinic in Vero Beach and said the new clinic was set to open its doors in March 2025 at 777 37th Street. The March 27, 2026 release announced the opening that day and said the clinic would open in phases to ensure a smooth and efficient transition, with full operations anticipated by Summer 2026. It described the phased approach as a way to implement services carefully while letting veterans begin receiving care as soon as departments are operationally ready. The release quoted Executive Director Cory Price, who said the system was excited to bring expanded services and specialty care to veterans in Indian River County.

The VA is opening services at the Indian River VA Clinic in three phases, and by the July 31, 2026 page update the first phase and part of the second were open.

According to the March 27, 2026 release, phase one in Vero Beach in March brought physical therapy, occupational therapy and chiropractic services. Phase two was expected to begin in May 2026 with audiology, cardiology, dermatology, neurology, podiatry, prosthetics, pulmonary, urology and blood draw services, and phase three was to follow with optometry and dental care.

The plan has shifted slightly since the 2024 announcement, which named Audiology, Cardiology, Chiropractic, Dental, Dermatology, Neurology, Optometry, Physical Therapy, Prosthetics, Podiatry, Pulmonology, Urology and Laboratory services. The 2026 phase list adds occupational therapy and names blood draw services where the 2024 list said Laboratory. The same page, last updated July 31, 2026, notes that hours may vary for different services at the 37th Street clinic and that each service listing carries its own hours; for audiology, therapy and podiatry, the service hours are the same as the facility hours. The page lists phone lines without printing the numbers in its text, so the VA West Palm Beach main switchboard and the clinic listings are the place to confirm them.

Access rules are set service by service. On the Indian River VA Clinic page, the audiology, physical and occupational therapy and podiatry listings each say the visit is by appointment only and that a referral is required, and that a veteran who needs a referral must contact a primary care provider first. Once fully activated, the March 2026 release says, the facility will reduce the need for veterans to travel outside Indian River County for specialty treatment and diagnostic care.
