Vero Beach Public Schools Guide

Vero Beach is served by the School District of Indian River County, and its school websites list twelve Vero Beach campuses in October 2026: Vero Beach High School, Vero Beach Middle School, Gifford Middle School, three magnet schools and six elementary schools.

The district office is at 6500 57th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32967, main number (772) 564-3000 (School District of Indian River County). Every Vero Beach school in the table below lists its address and main line on its own district website: Vero Beach High School, Vero Beach Middle School, Gifford Middle School, Osceola Magnet School, Rosewood Magnet School, Liberty Magnet School, Vero Beach Elementary School, Beachland Elementary School, Citrus Elementary School, Dodgertown Elementary School, Glendale Elementary School and Indian River Academy.

A Vero Beach mailing address does not always mean the city itself, since the district serves all of Indian River County: Gifford Middle School at 4530 28th Court sits in the Gifford census designated place, outside the city (Census geocoder). Three Vero Beach schools answer at different addresses than a year earlier: Vero Beach Middle School at 1507 19th Street, Osceola Magnet School at 480 20th Avenue SW and Rosewood Magnet School at 6400 57th Street (Vero Beach Middle School website).

The district's own school websites show the moves. Osceola Magnet School gave 1110 18th Avenue SW as its address in a December 2025 capture of its site (archived Osceola Magnet site) and now gives 480 20th Avenue SW (Osceola Magnet School website). Rosewood Magnet School gave 3850 16th Street in a June 2026 capture (archived Rosewood site) and now gives 6400 57th Street (Rosewood Magnet School website). The Oslo Middle School site, captured May 15, 2026, listed 480 20th Ave SW and the main number 772-564-3980 (archived Oslo Middle site); in October 2026 that number belongs to Vero Beach Middle School at 1507 19th Street.

The Indian River County shelter register matches the changes. It lists Vero Beach Middle School as the former V.B.H.S Freshman Learning Center, the building at 1110 18th Av SW as Annex B, formerly Osceola Magnet, and Osceola Magnet School at 480 20th Av SW (Indian River County shelter layer). The same register gives 6400 57th St as the address of Storm Grove Middle School, the campus where Rosewood Magnet School now lists its own address.

Oslo Middle School, which the district credited in July 2026 with rising from a B to an A, still appears under that name in the July results (district school grades release). Families searching for Oslo Middle, the Freshman Learning Center or Rosewood at 3850 16th Street will find the current names and addresses in the table above.

The School District of Indian River County, which runs every Vero Beach public school, earned its fourth consecutive A district grade in 2026, one of only 16 Florida districts with that streak (district release, July 1, 2026).

The Indian River County district behind the Vero Beach schools says 23 of its 24 traditional public schools earned an A, 96 percent and the third-highest share in Florida, and that every charter school earned an A. In the district's July 2026 report, Osceola Magnet School in Vero Beach ranked 56th among Florida's 1,786 graded elementary schools (district release).

In Grade 3 English Language Arts, Liberty Magnet School and Beachland Elementary School tied for 15th statewide, Rosewood Magnet School ranked 27th and Osceola Magnet School 36th. Citrus Elementary School and Oslo Middle School, both Vero Beach campuses, each improved from a B to an A, as did Pelican Island Classical Magnet School.

District-wide, Grade 3 English Language Arts proficiency reached 76 percent, third in Florida, and Middle School Acceleration ranked 4th, up from 56th in 2018-2019. The district home page adds eight Top 10 statewide rankings on the 2026 Florida student assessments, in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Biology, Civics and U.S. History (School District of Indian River County), results that cover the Vero Beach schools along with the Sebastian and Fellsmere campuses.

Vero Beach school listings published before mid 2026 predate the 2026 building moves and the July 2026 grade release, so names, addresses and grades in them can be a year behind.

Three points are worth checking. First, any list naming Oslo Middle School or the Freshman Learning Center as current Vero Beach schools is out of date, given the new names in the county shelter register (shelter layer). Second, the district and state count differently: the district reports 23 of 24 traditional schools plus every charter at A, while the FLDOE packet table counts 23 A, 1 B and 1 C across Indian River schools. The school-level FLDOE spreadsheet settles the grade of any one Vero Beach school.

Third, the state grading scale itself moved. FLDOE raised the 2025-26 scales for high schools and combination schools because more than 75 percent of those schools earned an A or B in 2024-25 (FLDOE results packet), so a Vero Beach High School grade from 2025-26 was earned on a higher scale than the one used for 2024-25.
